Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has reduced the number of passengers to 140 overweight and removed them from the flights and bookings in July, ARY News reported.

The carrier placed several male and female airline passengers with a large weight without stopping them from being listed for personnel and promotions. Flight crews were unable to use a strict diet plan during the COVID-19 epidemic, information sources.

On the other hand, a spokesman for the PIA said in a statement the number of flight attendants of 85 aircraft as the decision was taken after ongoing complaints.

The spokesman also said that the airline had issued repeated warnings to those who were overweight before taking the initiative, reports ARY News.
By 2019, the Pakistani national administrator had implemented a proposal to load overweight passengers on international flights. In this regard, PIA executives had announced that they had gradually reduced the 30-pound drop by no more than zero pounds in the coming months.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's Supreme Parliament was informed earlier this month by the country's airline that the PIA had incurred heavy losses due to false allegations. PIA had an estimated deficit of PKR 7.9 billion.

Last year, it was revealed that more than 200 Pakistani pilots were in possession of fake licenses as they had never appeared on their own tests. The disclosure was part of the results of an investigation into a plane crash in Karachi.
