The Czechs beat Scotland 2-0 in Glasgow.

Patrik Schick scored both goals in the Czech Republic on Monday in a 2-0 win over Scotland in the European Championship.

His second goal will be discussed in the coming years.

Scotland lost their legacy when the Czech goal was blocked and the ball fell to Schick. The Bayer Leverkusen striker looked up to see opposition goalkeeper David Marshall emerge from his line before hitting a long, curved shot to score.

Marshall fired, but he could have seen the ball go into the goal before he was finally caught in the net.

"I looked (at the goalkeeper) to see where he stood and he was really high," Schick said. "I looked again and fired."

UEFA said it was too far to score in the tournament with 49.7 meters. The previous record of 38.6 meters came from German midfielder Torsten Frings at Euro 2004.

Earlier Schick had given the Czechs a chance to take the lead in the 42nd minute with a powerful header after pressing himself between two Scottish defenders. It was an excellent conclusion from an equally prominent cross from behind Vladimír Coufal.
